Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome (FPIES)

FPIES is a non-IgE-mediated food allergy that is most common in infants but also occurs in adults. It results in severe vomiting after exposure to the triggering food.

In a first-of-its-kind study, we are testing a new method for diagnosing FPIES. We are using a unique low dose feeding test that we think will be safer and easier than current feeding tests. We are studying the immune response during these feeding tests, with a focus on CD4+ T cells and their interaction with cells of the gastrointestinal tract.
